Check bin collection days over Christmas

Residents in Stafford Borough are being reminded to check when their recycling and waste will be collected over the Christmas period.
There will be revised collection dates for green, blue and brown bins, and blue bag, in the borough from Saturday 21 December 2024 until Saturday 4 January 2025.
The borough council is encouraging people to check the rescheduled dates on their collection day calendars or at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/about-my-area Bins should be out by 7am on the revised collection days.
If you do not have access to the internet and require a copy of your calendar, contact 01785 619402 to arrange for one to be sent to you.
Homes across the borough currently recycle around fifty percent of all the waste collected from the doorsteps. Tips for recycling over the festive period – such as places to compost Christmas Trees – can be found from the website www.staffordbc.gov.uk/christmas-recycling-and-waste-arrangements-2024-2025
The cost for having your brown bin garden waste collected remains at £42 for 2025 and to continue using the service go to www.staffordbc.gov.uk/brownbin or contact the council at 01785 619402.

REMINDER: Civic Amenity Visit (bin lorry) – Saturday, 5 October
Please note, the final 2024 visit of the bin lorry, will be taking place on Saturday, 5 October, as follows:
Ingestre: Opposite Home Farm Court, Ingestre, from 9.00am – 10.00am
Tixall: Village Hall Car Park, Tixall, from 10.15am – 11.15am
Please be aware that, due to a change in legislation as in 2023, we do not accept sofas or armchairs at the Civic Amenity Visits. This is due to legislation around Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) which are found in soft furnishings, these items cannot be crushed (as they would be in the collection vehicle) and need to be collected separately either by arrangement with Stafford Borough Council or taken to designated containers at the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Stafford and Stone. This information will appear on the posters we send out to you and there will also be an advisory sign put out on collection days. We would appreciate it if you could also communicate this information to your residents in advance to prevent them making a wasted journey.
